Terms of use

By using Kerning Crimes you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

• What it is. A free toy that makes posters from words. It contains strong language and is meant for adults. You choose how rude it gets.
• Your words, your responsibility. You are fully responsible for the text you type, the posters you make and how you use, share, print or sell them. Don’t use it to insult, harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or to break any law or anyone’s rights (including trademarks and copyright).
• Using your posters. You may use the pictures and videos you make for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. We claim no rights in your text. We give no promise that text you type is free of other people’s rights.
• Filters are not a guarantee. The app replaces some slurs automatically, but no filter is perfect. Anything that slips through is still your responsibility.
• As is. The app is provided free and “as is”, without any warranty. It may contain errors, look different on your device, print differently than on screen, be unavailable, or change or stop at any time without notice.
• Liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, STUDIO MERLIN, s.p. is not liable for any damage or loss arising from using or not being able to use the app, including lost work, printing costs, reputational harm or what others do with posters you share. As the app is free, our total liability is limited to zero euros.
• Your indemnity. If someone makes a claim against us because of text you typed or how you used a poster, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses.
• What we don’t limit. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent, gross negligence or harm to life or health caused by our fault, or your mandatory consumer rights.
• The design. The app itself (its look, code, layouts and texts) belongs to STUDIO MERLIN, s.p. Please don’t copy the app.
• Law. Slovenian law applies. Courts in Slovenia have jurisdiction, unless your mandatory consumer rights say otherwise.
• Changes. We may update these terms at any time. The version on this page applies.

Privacy

• Nothing you type is sent to us. Posters are made entirely in your browser. We don’t store your words, posters or downloads.
• Share links. When you copy a link, your words are packed into the part of the link after “#”. Browsers don’t send that part to our server, but anyone you give the link to can read it.
• On your device. The app saves one small poster counter in your browser’s local storage. You can clear it in your browser settings.
• Server logs. Like any website, our server briefly records technical data (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) to keep it running and secure. We don’t use it to identify you. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• No cookies, no tracking, no ads. So there is no cookie banner.
• Your rights. You can ask us about your data, or to correct or delete it, by writing to tassh@studio-merlin.com. You can also complain to the Slovenian data protection authority: Informacijski pooblaščenec, Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, www.ip-rs.si.
